About Pennoyer

Pennoyer School proudly educates children from parts of Norridge, Harwood Heights, and unincorporated Norwood Park Township. During the 1830's, the Pennoyer family came from new England and settled in what is now known as Norridge. The land they settled laid between what is now East River Road and Cumberland Avenue. In 1838, members of the community met at the home of John Pennoyer to discuss the plans for the development of a school. The school began in 1839, in Pennoyer's home. In 1954 it was decided to build a new school at the corner of Cumberland and Foster Avenue. A major addition was added in 2001. The school district proudly educates children in grades PK-8.

Students Acquire A Skill For Skiing!

Seventy-one Junior High students took to the slopes at the Grand Geneva Resort, Friday night for an evening of skiing.  After many of the students took ski lessons they were on their own, swishing downhill and feeling the cold, brisk air on their faces.  Students were able to warm up in the lodge with hot chocolate, hamburgers, and nachos.  A good time was had by all.

Technology Examples of Learning

In the "old" days we did book reports or poster board presentations (well, we still do those today as well!!) - but, with modern technology, we can also do reports in a "jazzy" colorful manner.

http://miat13.edu.glogster.com/classical-era  Give the site/pages time to load - there is a lot of information packed into the online posters!

For a examples of Glogster reports from music class! The students are using Glogs to report and share their learning; feel free to click on pictures, video/audio, etc.
